DIY: Custom Screws

Probably the fastest modification I’ve done in computing is custom screw knobs. See, some computer case manufacturers don’t listen to their customers and make the case side panel easily removable, requiring you to grab a screw driver, or worse, drilling out pop rivets (remember those old 1990 cases?). So for every case I’ve ever owned, I’ve made some custom screw knobs that not only look nice and add a bit of taste, they remove the hassle of finding a screw driver.

The idea and parts list is simple, and should come in almost under a dollar.

  • A tube of super glue
  • A die (or whatever else is larger than the screw and easy to grip)
  • A screw

Glue the screw to the die, hold it for 30 seconds. You’re done!

    wouldnt it not be better to maybe drill alittle depth so you are hiding the screw head?
