Office 14 Not Launching Until Next Year

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said to Wall Street analysts that Office 14 will not be shipping in 2009. Earlier in the year, Microsoft reps said that Office 14 would be shipping late this year or early next year, but that has now easily been shot down. Microsoft released an alpha version of the new Office in January to selected customers. A beta is said to be coming this summer.
Windows 7 is also said to still be on track for a release later this year, despite the later launch of Office 14. This is surprising news due to Microsoft being a big fan of releasing Windows and Office together.
