Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 Now Available

firefox

Mozilla has finally released the 3rd beta of Firefox 3.1 after many delays. If you’re confused, Mozilla is still carrying the 3.1 name with this 3rd beta, but the 4th beta will be known as Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 and the final version will have the 3.5 name. So there will be no final release of Firefox 3.1.

CoD: MW2 Coming Holiday ’09

call-of-duty1

Thomas Tippl, CFO of Activision, has said that the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare 2, will be releasing this holiday season.

According to Tippl: “For 2009, Modern Warfare is coming back, we expect it will be the most anticipated game of the year. Perhaps the number one game of the year despite the fact that it’s only going to launch in the holiday season…There is no doubt in my mind that it will again raise the bar for the shooter genre. The game is looking incredible and Infinity Ward, the studio that is developing it, is just doing an unbelievable job.”

It is crazy to think that it has been almost a year and a half since the release of CoD4: Modern Warfare. I am still playing this game almost every day. Sure there was CoD: World at War, but I found that leaving me wanting more. Lets all hope MW2 is a worthy successor to CoD4.

Firefox 3.5 Beta On The Way

firefox

After the third beta of Firefox 3.1 was delayed yet again, we were wondering if Firefox 3.1 would ever exist….we now know that it won’t. Instead, Mozilla is fast forwarding to Firefox 3.5. A fourth beta is expected April 19.

The increase in scope represented by TraceMonkey and Private Browsing, plus the sheer volume of work that’s gone into everything from video and layout to places and the plugin service make it a larger increment than we believe is reasonable to label “.1″. 3.5 will help set expectations better about the amount of awesome that’s packed into Shiretoko,” said Mike Shaver, Mozilla’s engineering VP.

Review: Antec Skeleton

pic01

Back when I first saw the Antec Skeleton concept images, I didn’t know what to think. Sure, it looked amazing, but was it meant to be a proper PC case or was it designed as a maintenance platform for system builders? Even now I cannot answer that question. All that I can tell you for sure is that although expensive, it looks amazing and works as effectively as a standard PC case, but is it really worth it? Does it do the job good enough to be an effective replacement for a standard case? These are questions that will be answered.

DIY: Automatic Camera Part Two

Last weekend I demonstrated a quick and dirty way of making your camera take a picture every couple of seconds/minutes. Unfortunately, The cheapness of the camera I used corrupted my SD card and lost all the pictures I had taken for the project. This week, I’m back with a new SD card in hand and a guide of taking all those (in my case, 400) pictures and making it into a short movie.
