Seagate and AMD  have unveiled the first demo of SATA Revision 3.0, which has transfer rates of up to 6Gb/s, twice the speed of current SATA drives. SATA 6Gb/s, which was announced last August by the Serial ATA International Organization, will start to appear later this year.

Fuel Video Released

Fuel, which is being developed by Asobo Studio will be released on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It has a planned release date of May 2009 and is one of the few racing games that I’ve been keeping an eye on lately. Over at Game Trailers, a weather effects video has been released and wow does it look good! Hopefully the gameplay is just as good.

RE5 Outsells RE4 At Launch

Resident Evil 5 sold 278,000 copies for PS3 on its first day out in Japan. It has shattered launch day sales of Resident Evil 4, which sold 117,000 copies for the Gamecube in January 2005 and 145,000 copies for the PS2 in December 2005.

Microsoft pulled a “shock and awe” move during a presentation at the Morgan Stanley Technology conference. Microsoft Business Division Chief Stephen Elop announced a free version of Office 14, which they hope will help fight piracy

“There’s an opportunity to draw those pirate customers into the revenue stream. We want to draw them into the Windows family and maybe there’s an upsell opportunity later”. -Elop

Left4Dead DLC Is Coming

Although it has not yet been given a solid release date, the DLC that Valve is working on for L4D is not far away and we have been assured that it will arrive “No later than April 21st.”. Valve wants to release the DLC before ‘The Critic’s Choice Edition’ of Left4Dead hits store shelves (a version of the retail game bundled with the new content) and that is planned for release on the 21st of April.

Wheelman Demo Hits Xbox Live

Of course, us PC gamers get the short end of the stick, but for you console gamers, you can now download the Wheelman demo via Xbox Live. I considered firing up my Xbox and having a go on it myself, before it hits PC, but I didn’t feel like waiting for the 1.31GB demo to download. I figure, I’ve played the Driver series, so I know what to expect.

Infinity Ward Says ‘Leak’ Is Fake

Just a few days ago, we told you that a bunch of details where reportedly leaked by a game tester for CoD: Modern Warfare 2 and we included the list of changes and details. Well, Infinity Ward (developer) has responded to this alleged leak saying that it is completely bogus.

“People. This list is fake, I mean; I can’t get into how-much-if-any is true, how much is false, etc, but this list wasn’t put together by anyone with any insider information. There’s also some craziness that should red-flag this as “stuff I made up and wrote down”.” – Infinity Ward programmer Rayme Vinson.

So, there you have it. To be perfectly honest, who wasn’t expecting this? At any rate, I guess we’ll all sit back down and wait for more official details.

The Horrors of Tech Support

Anyone who builds and/or troubleshoots computers can tell you that they would rather put their tongue on the business end of a Molex connector and turn on the PSU than have to contact a tech support call center for anything. Most of the people at tech support centers seem to have nothing better to do than waste your time. I’m quite sure that some of them have leaderboards in their offices comparing employee’s longest time keeping a customer on hold.
