There have been some pictures released of an all new case designed by the popular computer memory and storage company, Corsair.  The all-black case is expected to be available early in Q2 and will cost roughly US$250-$300.

Keep in mind the case is only a prototype and will have about 25 changes made to it before production.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX Delayed for PC

hawx

Although the console release is still on schedule for release this Friday (Mar. 6th), the PC version has been pushed back a week from it’s initial release of Mar. 13th. Now planned for PC release on the 20th, the demo is still availible for download. I strongly suggest it, the demo is great fun and it should shape up to be a great game.

Street Fighter IV PC Delay Explained

street-fighter

As we told you a few weeks ago, the PC release of SFIV has now been delayed to summer ’09, because of the anti-piracy tactics they Capcom was trying with this release. Well, according to Capcom’s VP, Christian Svensson, these claims are absurd and completely untrue. The reality is that even though the arcade machines run Windows builds of the game, they are far from PC-ready. Lacking special content and proper customization options to run properly and as intended on a Windows-based PC. Because of that, the PC release has been delayed to get it to a proper build.

“So, to put things into perspective, the Street Fighter IV team is working on two things right now. They’re finishing the PC SKU, and people are like, well the arcade was the PC, how hard can it be? Well we had all of these additions for the console version in terms of content that didn’t exist on the PC. All of that needs to be rolled back in.” – Christian Svensson, VP Capcom

Is it possible that Capcom realised that this “anti-piracy tactic” they had announced would actually desimate their sales and are now denying these claims? In any case, it matters not. The game is still set for release this summer, anti-piracy or not.

amd

Dirk Meyer, CEO of AMD, said the chip maker will deliver 32nm CPUs by mid next year. Testing of the new chips should be complete by the end of this year and production expected begin late next year. This would put AMD roughly a year behind Intel as they are expected to come out with 32nm chips by the end of this year.

Blog News – 3/2/2009

shifthappens

A couple things are worth mentioning about the Tech Olive site itself and we feel our loyal readers must know about these things. Trust us, it’s nothing terribly bad.

- First off, you might have noticed the shoutbox is kaput. We replaced it with Twitter updates from Tech Olive’s Twitter account as well as Tim and I’s Twitter accounts. If you have Twitter, we would appreciate the follows.

- Lastly, I’ve been informed that the site doesn’t really enjoy collaborating with Internet Explorer. After all these months, I’ve never received any complaints about this, but I guess it takes just one person to start a fire. I won’t mention any names Jakob Griffith but we are going to start working on this issue, that way Tech Olive will work properly on as many browsers as possible.

If you have any questions or other complaints that we should know about, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
