Happy 5th Birthday, Gmail!

The launch of a free Google email service was no April Fool’s joke when it became available on April 1, 2004. Five years later, despite many new features and enhancements, it’s still in its beta stages.
Surprisingly, Gmail has not yet gained popularity among the masses of the general public. Accorded to Hitwise stats, Gmail only claimed 6% of the webmail market last year, while Yahoo Mail stood alone at 55% and Microsoft Windows Live at 26%.
Yes it’s a day late, but Happy Birthday Gmail!
