Hulu iPhone App Coming Soon

huluapp

Hulu, a website devoted to streaming TV shows and movies for free, are in the process of developing an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It’s said the app will be released within the next few months and will work over WiFi and 3G.

This isn’t the first app devoted to web video streaming. Joost has an app out, as well as iTV and CBS’s TV.com, but Hulu’s app could possibly be the best.

Review: Seagate 6TB BlackArmor NAS 440

lcd-copy

Needless to say, we were extremely excited to review our first ever NAS drive. After several previous storage reviews of Seagate products, it was time for us to up the ante and this honkin’ 6TB BlackArmor NAS 440 from Seagate was a perfect place to start. Unlike most network storage drives, which can sometimes be a pain to setup, Seagate’s BlackArmor NAS series is meant for those small businesses that don’t have the knowledgeable IT staff on board to help them with their network and PC management. In other words, it’s meant so that even the most technological illiterate users can set this thing up. Maybe that’s what Seagate claims, but was it really true? We knew that we could set it up with no problems, but we decided to put ourselves in the shoes of the non-geek gifted to see if setting it up would really be a stroll in the park for the end users.

The Swedish District court issued a Guilty verdict this morning and all four Pirate Bay defendants were sentenced to one year in prison and split fines of $3.6 million. The founders of the Pirate Bay were found guilty of assisting copyright infringement, even though half of the initial charges against them were dropped after the trial shortly began. Battlefield: Heroes Beta To Go Public

heroes

By now, you’re sure to have read about or seen screenshots about Battlefield: Heroes, EA’s free-to-play cartoon-style shooter. Well, for the past few months it has been in a closed beta, but according to EA, they are planning to open the beta to the public “this summer”. That seems to be the most specific date that anyone can get out of EA. However, they did mention that they would release an actual date sometime later this week.

Gran Turismo 5 Coming to PSP For Sure

gt5

Although very unexpected, GT5 is going to be distilled for the PSP. This is a move that very few expected. From reading quotes from the developer, this is no surprise either. “The thing was that kazunori didn’t like the idea of GT for the PSP, he didn’t want to make a downgraded GT for the PSP”

Although I don’t know much about their contact, HHG Show has more information. So, don’t sell your PSPs yet!

piratebay

Sweden’s National Museum of Science and Technology now holds a piece of BitTorrent history. The museum acquired one of the confiscated servers that was used by the Pirate Bay. The server is apparently one of Pirate Bay’s originals and was purchased by the museum for $240.

What I want to know is if the server is signed by Peter Sunde and Fredrik Neij themselves….No?….What a waste.

assassins-creed

Ubisoft’s upcoming sequel to their open-world medieval Hitman-style, Assassin’s Creed, originally planned for release late March 2010, is now slated for release this holiday season. I’m not sure how they managed to be that far ahead of schedule, but nevertheless, that is the news as of now. Ubisoft is promising “more variety in missions, surprising and engaging new gameplay elements, diverse weapons and a profound character progression,” for the upcoming sequel.
There is also a list of “rumored, leaked” details, but I don’t bother wasting your (or my) time with such “facts”. You can thank me later, when they are denied to be true by the developer.

HP Takes #1 Spot From Dell

hewlettpackard

According to Q1 data released by IDC, HP has stolen Dell’s #1 spot for most PC shipments in both the U.S. and worldwide markets. The report says that netbook sales of HP was the winning factor.

HP shipped 4.1 million units in the U.S., which was enough to edge out Dell, who shipped 3.9 million. Acer was third with 1.5 million, followed by fourth place Apple with 1.1 million.

On a worldwide scale, HP managed to ship a whopping 13 million units compared to Dell’s measly 8.7 million.

fable

Peter Molyneux, head of Lionhead Studios, was asked about the possibility of Fable II coming to PC (released last October for Xbox360).  Unfortunately, the only response he would give was a hasty “No comment”. This is not surprising and is certainly more welcome than a simple denial of a PC port’s existence. Fans will note that it took the original Fable an entire year before it hit PC.
