Dead Rising 2 E3 Trailer Leaked

dead-rising

It seems like very few game developers have very strong control over their press departments. This is certainly not the first E3-exclusive trailer to be leaked and I find it hard to believe that it will be the last, but that is not our problem. Getting back to the topic at hand, a new trailer for Dead Rising 2 has been leaked for your viewing pleasure. I must say, after watching it, I seriously doubt any of it is actual gameplay, let alone in-engine graphics. This is disappointing and we were hoping to have some solid gameplay footage by now, but we guess we’re forced to wait longer.

See what you think, watch the video after the break.

Call of Juarez: Blood Ties CE Details

coj

We haven’t posted much about the upcoming Call of Juarez game, but now is as good of time as any, am I right? Well, according to a Polish site, Call of Juarez: Blood Ties Collector’s Edition details have been released and they have posted them. Because the original site is not in English (shocker), the details are the best translation I could manage, but keep in mind they may still be a bit inaccurate.

Take a look at a detailed description of the contents after the break.

Retro Review: F-Zero

fzerologo

Yet another SNES classic that I played for way too many hours during my young childhood. F-Zero was like the futuristic, end-of-the-world version of Super Mario Kart, but was much simpler and didn’t have crazy animals driving around souped up go-karts.

canonemployees

So you think your job sucks? Just wait until you nail a job at Canon.

The president of Canon, Hisashi Sakamaki, thinks that forcing employees to stand not only saves money but increases productivity and enhances employee relationships.

Not only must they stand, but if an employee walks slower than 5 meters every 3.6 seconds, an alarm and flashing lights go off to remind the worker that he needs to maintain the 5 meters per 3.6 seconds. There are even signs on the floor in the hallways that read, “Let’s rush: If we don’t, the company and world will perish.”

And you guessed it, the boss that thought about all of this gets to lounge in a nice, relaxing chair.

EGM Lives Again?

egm

Back in January of this year, the sad news was released that the popular gaming magazine, EGM, had printed its last issue and was closing its doors. Well, in a bit of great news, Steve Harris (EGM’s original founder in 1989) has announced that he is reviving the magazine and plans to start printing in the second-half of 2009. During E3, Harris said that there will be some updates posted to EGM’s site, so keep an eye out for that.

“The re-launch of Electronic Gaming Monthly represents a welcome opportunity to continue delivering quality content to gaming enthusiasts, I feel honored to once again be associated with this respected magazine. The talented writers and designers who built upon EGM’s original vision have left behind a publication that is uniquely positioned to be successful.”- According to Steve Harris in a press release.

Modern Warfare 2 Beta Confirmed?

mw2

Now, lots of us know about the scam emails that where flying around in the past months. In these emails, “Activision” was telling gamers to sign up at a specific website and in return said gamer would receive a guaranteed slot in MW2‘s pre-release beta. But this time around, we assure you, there is no trickery.

Today, we at the Olive reserved our copies of Modern Warfare 2 (No, we’re not cool enough yet to get it free from Activision) and the kind gentleman behind the counter was sure to notify us “when the beta releases.” Granted, this isn’t much of a surprise when you consider the fact that both CoD4: Modern Warfare and CoD: World at War had pre-release betas, so why wouldn’t MW2 be given the same honor?

On top of that, we thought you readers would enjoy a fresh picture of Gamestop’s preorder bonus for Modern Warfare 2. View it after the break.
