Speculations and Tribulations of Modern Warfare 2

With the recent release of the Modern Warfare 2 trailer, we would like to take a step back and try to guess what could potentially be seen in the upcoming game. Then, when we finally get to play it, we’ll get to look back and say, “Oh, I knew that would happen!” These are, of course, just our estimates and are by no means official reports.
One might be asking, “Why only this game?” It’s simple; CoD4 was what brought several of the members of Tech Olive together. Without it, we would be wondering loners who would most likely never have met. With the release of Modern Warfare 2, who knows the new faces we will meet.
My first impression after viewing the trailer is making me wonder: Did they go backwards, graphics wise? It looks like a hyped up GTA engine. Of course, I can understand them recording it at a lesser quality, so once the game is released the user will really say “wow”, but that brings up my next point. Near the end of the trailer is a clip of you as a soldier and your other comrades being hoisted out by helicopter just as the building explodes. Did they just spoil one of perhaps the most epic scenes in the entire game?
Another clip shows a motorcycle on fire, it’s already been confirmed that we will get to drive a snowmobile, what could be some other vehicles? Hopefully we’ll have some more tanks for heavy fire power, maybe some motorcycles for quick getaways, but honestly, the tanks were way overpowered in CoD: WaW, so perhaps there’s reason for worry.
What’s really got us interested is the underwater scene. Would there really be combat in such a large, open area with 6 degrees of freedom and no guns? Or will it just be a lame filler? Infinity Ward is pretty known for not including free floating camera cut scenes in their games, but how else would you explain this portion?
It seems we’ve presented a lot of questions. When will we get some answers? The Olive promises that as soon as we get some information, we’ll pass it along to the readers. Until then, mark November 10 for the release of Modern Warfare 2.
