Retro Review: Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker

With the recent hype being of a famed celebrities’ death, we felt that it would be good to pay tribute to the king of pop and give a good solid review of his often overlooked game. Yes, he’s had a few incidents in his life that we feel shouldn’t be mentioned, but we’re here to show the good side of Micheal Jackson and his game, Moonwalker.
Being the true fan that I am, I decided before playing the game I should watch the movie. Then I remembered I had some paint to watch in the other room, and opted to do that for an hour.
You get to play as Michael Jackson himself going from some building, to the streets, to even a graveyard where you have to find little boys girls and rescue them. How do you save the children? You open doors.
Frankly, why cant these children simply open the doors themselves? They aren’t locked because MJ just has to spin in front of them and they magically open. Maybe its some sort of secret spin lock, who knows. Another thing I wondered was who was putting these children behind doors? Well, that was answered by this guy.
A completely unknown dude saying you’ll never catch him. Well yeah, he’s a little too old for MJ’s taste. The irony is, he’s everywhere! You have to kick your way through about 100 of him just to get from one side of the room to the other. Sometimes he’s hiding behind windows, and even doors as well. So as soon as you spin open a door, he pops out and unavoidably stabs/shoots you!
I honestly intended to think of some positive part of the game. Something that made me smile, leaving this entire paragraph too it, but it’s just not there.
Originally I hated the designers for producing such crap, and then thought of all the poor chaps who purchased it. Then I began to think, maybe they were being tortured in some underground lair day in and day out to produce a game of such high quality and began to feel sorry for them. Either way, my final say is goodnight Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker, but next time, make the goal of the game fun, not little boys.
