Seagate Debuts 640GB FreeAgent Go

seagate-640gb-ready-go-rm-eng

We received word from Seagate about a new addition to their FreeAgent Go lineup. The 640GB FreeAgent Go will be the first ever 640GB 2.5″ external drive to hit the market. There’s really nothing else that has changed about the drives other than the new 640GB capacity, still has the same USB 2.0 interface. Seagate says it’ll only come in colors of silver and red and will be available mid-July. Sadly, no price details yet.

That would definitely be cool, but with limited surface area, I don’t think they’ll consider it anytime soon.

That is true, I think they should try making a line with just eSata or firewire and see how those go.
