Windows 7 Half-Off on Newegg
By Jakob Griffith on Jun 30th, 2009 at 12:49AM

A couple of days ago the prices of Windows 7 were released to the public and now they are being cut in half! Currently Newegg.com has a promotion that if you pre-order the Upgrade version of Windows 7, you get it 50% off. Now, this means that you have to have a copy of either Windows XP or Windows Vista in order to upgrade, so don’t expect this for a new build.
For a new build you can however, purchase a copy of Vista now, and get a copy of Windows 7 for free when it comes out. Two for the price of one!
UPDATE: Better hurry and order, regular has just sold out!

This isn’t just a deal unique to Newegg, every retailer has a limited amount of Windows 7 copies that they are selling at half price.
Also, most manufactures are offering a free upgrade to Windows 7 if you purchase any computer with Vista.

Touche on that Trev, BUT that’s only if you purchase an OEM computer that you get a free upgrade and most of us try to avoid that.

Free upgrade on lappys too! Also, looks like Newegg is back in stock. And if they go out, Amazon has plenty.
