Nero 9 Offered Free To All

nero

Nero has just announced that they are now offering a free version of their burning suite, Nero 9. By just adding your (or anyone’s) email address in a field, you can download the software free of charge straight from Nero. The price aside, we’re not 100% sure the difference between Nero 9 and Nero 9 Free Version, but it’s still a great price for some good burning software.

Retro Review: Super Mario Brothers 3

01

Super Mario Bros. 3, the game I still consider to be possibly the best ever made. My early childhood was dominated by this game, as I spent endless hours in front of the television playing it on my NES. I couldn’t think of a better option for this month’s Retro Review, so lets dive in and go back to gaming circa 1988. Continue Reading »

Review: Bionic Commando (PC)

bio0

Today we will be reviewing Bionic Commando, Capcom’s attempt to restart the series they created in 1988 on the NES. Apparently, this 2009 title is supposed to be a direct sequel to the original, despite the title not labeling it as such. Call me young, but I feel that 21 years is a bit too long to wait before releasing a sequel.

Guitar Hero 5 Tracklist Revealed

GuitarHero5

Guitar Hero 5′s tracklist has officially been released and, as expected, it is a rather good tracklist with quite a few songs by bands that I actually like, what a surprise. Enough babbling, time for the tracks, follow the break. Drum roll please…

Something Important…

the_cake

I feel I should make a post today…I can’t think for the life of me what I was planning to write about. Whatever I was planning to write about must not have been of great importance. Forgive me for interrupting you on this clearly insignificant day. Carry on.

CryEngine 2: The Movie

Raining-Fire

It seems I’ve been out of the loop when it comes to this project. These details are the first I’ve heard of it, but here they are nonetheless. A new machinima movie that is being made using CryEngine 2 has been unveiled and the makers have just released some new screenshots photos and a video trailer. The project, Raining Forever, seems quite interesting and well done. Rest assured, I’ll be following this project in the future, so look forward to future details. Follow the break for the released video trailer.

projectnatal

Brian Farrell, the head honcho of THQ, says that Project Natal will in fact be coming “late next year,” despite Microsoft taking back their release date announcement. So since we all know that Natal will be out late 2010, why doesn’t Microsoft just go ahead and tell us? What’s there to hide?

Splinter Cell: Conviction Gets Delayed

Splinter_Cell_Conviction

Ubisoft seems to be following suit with other big-name delays because Splinter Cell: Conviction has just been slapped with a new, later release date. Originally set for a Q4 2007 release, most recently it was planned to release July 27 of this year, but Conviction is now planned for a release somewhere between January 1 and March 31 of next year, according to Ubisoft. Apparently, the game just was not polished enough for Ubisoft’s liking, so they’re taking more time to give the game a more solid release. So, really, we can’t complain. I’ll gladly wait 5-8 months for a more solid and bug-free game.

mw2

Activision has notified retailers that they no longer intend to produce Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition for PC. Xbox 360 and PS3 owners don’t have to worry because MW2 Hardened Edition is still planned for production. On top of that, Prestige Edition still seems to be bypassing PC gamers as well. Has Infinity Ward forgotten their roots? Then again, maybe we should be thanking them for forcing us to buy the cheapest version of MW2 and saving us money for other Q4 releases. In an attempt to settle your rage, we present to you some nice multiplayer gameplay footage of MW2 after the break. We hope you have an extra pair of underwear on hand.
