Google’s Search Bar Bigger Than Ever

In an effort to make searching easier and to put more focus on searching overall, Google has increased the size of their search bar and buttons.

Although this is a very simple idea and an even simpler change, we’re excited about it — because it symbolizes our focus on search and because it makes our clean, minimalist homepage even easier and more fun to use.” –Marissa Mayor, Vice President of Search Products & User Experience.

Oh shit, I thought it was me. I was messing with Ctrl +/- moving the font up and down for like 10 minutes. I figured I had accidentally changed the font size, and for some reason I couldn’t get it exactly where it used to be. Now this explains it.

Although, I must say that I do not like the change. Mostly just because I’m so used to it being one size that anything different is visually offensive.
