ASUS Surprises the Market With USB 3.0

USB3

With rumors that Intel was delaying their implementation of USB 3.0, many had accepted that 3.0 wouldn’t be seen until early 2011. However, ASUS has stepped into the light and launched two products that utilize 3.0: the Xtreme Design P7P55D-E motherboard, with two integrated USB 3.0 ports and a PCI-Express add-on card which also features two 3.0 ports along with two SATA 6.0 ports at the back. The mobo is priced at $299. The PCI-E card, on the other hand, is priced at a mere $30. If you ask me, ASUS is looking to pull ahead and steal the USB 3.0 market and just might pull it off. Until Intel finally decides to participate, that is.

Retro Review: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater

1

With the release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater in 1999, the gaming world was introduced to a franchise that would explode in popularity and pave the way for future extreme sports titles. Although Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater wasn’t the first skating game to be released, it is without a doubt one of the best. In light of the game recently celebrating its 10th anniversary of release, I found it to be the perfect subject for this month’s retro review.

UPDATED: New Modern Warfare 2 Promo Video

Snake! We need you to....Erm...I mean: Ghost! We need you to save the princess! Wait, that's Mario's email. Crap.

Robert Bowling has released a new video of Modern Warfare 2. The rather humorous video features Philadelphia Phillies’ pitcher Cole Hamels telling us about the issue that is grenade spamming. The informative message is brought to us by the Fight Against Grenade Spam, or FAGS for short. No, I’m not making this up. Check out the video for yourself after the break.

UPDATE: Infinity Ward has removed the video from their YouTube account without notice. There has been no information as to why they pulled the video, but I think it’s safe to assume it was because of the anti-homosexuality message.

Left 4 Dead 2 DLC Details Leaked?

When most of you downloaded the Left 4 Dead 2 demo all you could think of was shooting zombies in the face from one end of the map to the other, there are some gamers who played the game once and then had the idea to delve into the game’s code and see what secrets they could uncover. While there is an abundance of information to be learned from the console, the really interesting story is of one person finding reference to two downloadable content packs that have strings already linked into the game for server hosts. The code determines whether somebody has said content pack and to kick them if they haven’t. Although the DLC details haven’t been announced, it’s still a very interesting leak. Let’s hope they do actually come out. Check after the break for the code that was discovered. Continue Reading »

Left 4 Dead 2 is hard enough as it is on expert, imagine playing it on realistic expert! Realistic mode is one of the new modes released in Left 4 Dead 2. In Realistic mode, you need to be closer to objects to see the white outline, zombies will need headshots to take down and, unless revived with a defibrillator, players stay dead. It looks like they just made the game ridiculously harder, which should be fun! Check after the break for a G4TV walkthrough of one level in realistic mode. Continue Reading »

Review: Borderlands (PC)

border0

With all the pre-release hype, everyone was comparing this game to Fallout 3 and at the time, it seemed like a fair comparison, but after playing Borderlands, it was clear that these two games just don’t compare. At a glance they have a lot of similarities, but they are still so different from each other that a comparison would not be fair to either game, but at the same time it’s not asking too much that some of the features be of the same quality.
