ASUS Surprises the Market With USB 3.0

USB3

With rumors that Intel was delaying their implementation of USB 3.0, many had accepted that 3.0 wouldn’t be seen until early 2011. However, ASUS has stepped into the light and launched two products that utilize 3.0: the Xtreme Design P7P55D-E motherboard, with two integrated USB 3.0 ports and a PCI-Express add-on card which also features two 3.0 ports along with two SATA 6.0 ports at the back. The mobo is priced at $299. The PCI-E card, on the other hand, is priced at a mere $30. If you ask me, ASUS is looking to pull ahead and steal the USB 3.0 market and just might pull it off. Until Intel finally decides to participate, that is.
