Straight from Verizon’s Twitter feed, the company has confirmed that the Palm Pre will indeed be coming to Verizon stores near you.

@lanvuch We will be carrying the Palm Pre smartphone early next year.

“Early next year” are the most specific details we have as of now, so stay tuned as we hope to see more info about this soon.
