It’s not surprising in the technology world that one things comes out right after another. This is exactly the case with Intel’s upcoming Core i9 “Gulftown” processor, where early benchmarks said that Core i9 is 50% faster than the fastest Core i7. The Core i9 sports six cores at 2.8GHz and while six cores might not seem logical now, newer software development is taking on the task of multiple core support, which means six cores could very well be useful in the recent future. The Core i9 will come with a price though, and a hefty one at that. It will also consume 130W of power, compared to the 95W of the Core i7. It’s said that we’ll start seeing the new i9 as early as January 2010.
