Free WiFi Coming to a McDonald’s Near You

Not a surprising move by any means, but the good ole Mac Daddy fast food joint is teaming up with AT&T to bring you free WiFi to some 11,000 locations nationwide starting mid-January. In the past, you’d be paying a nickel shy of three dollars for two hours worth of wireless internet access.
I don’t know about you, but something about taking your expensive, fancy laptop into a McDonald’s just seems…wrong.

My dad is a business man who carries his laptop around with him wherever he goes. He goes into McDonalds in the morning sometimes for a coffee and maybe something to eat if he has time, he’s told me that every time the Wi-Fi in McDonalds has been so unbelievably handy because he can chill drinking his coffee or eating his food and browse nicely through his emails.
I also find it handy for checking Facebook and/or my emails on my iPod Touch,

@Andy Kershaw – McDonald’s is getting better at not making their restaurants look like dirty fast food joints. They’ve remodeled most of their locations. I’ll give ‘em that.
It just seems that when you walk in to a fast food joint with a business suit on and a fancy laptop, you feel really out of place.
I know what you mean there but, well actually this McDonalds always has business men in it because it’s in a commercial area, so it might not count as much.
