dresden-panorama

We now have a new world record holder for the world’s largest photograph topping out at 26.03 gigapixels taken in Dresden, Germany. It was captured using a Canon 5D Mk II with a 400mm lens. Here’s where it gets interesting. The photo comprises of 1,665 images at 21.4 megapixels each. It took 3 hours and 52 minutes to take all of the photos using a robot. Another 94 hours were spent stitching together the 102 GB of data using a computer with 48 GB of RAM and 16 CPUs. Wow!

Although that is quite impressive, we would’ve given style points if it were at a more interesting location. We can’t say the scenery is all that fantastic. Hit up the link below to view the image in its entirety.

Asus Eee PC 1005P/PE Unveiled

asus-eee-pc-1005p

Heading to the market anytime now are new additions to the Eee PC 1005 line. The 1005P and 1005PE will sport an Atom N450 CPU and a battery life that boasts 12 hours, which will probably be more like 8-10 hours in real life. These are the only noticeable differences in performance from the 1005HA, which is one of Asus’ best netbooks currently on the market. No price or availability details have been surfaced yet, but we should expect the additions anytime.

If it were us though, we’d wait until a month or two before purchasing a netbook, since a lot more newer-gen hardware will be announced next month at CES. More details on the 1005P/PE can be read at the link below.

splash

It was a viscous and unforgiving war, but war it was and that meant there could be only one victor.  With a total 6,406,065 dead Demomen and 6,372,979 dead Soldiers, it was a close battle but the Soldiers came out on top in the end winning themselves a damn fine pair of boots; The Gunboats. As a result of the end of the war, Team Fortress 2 is having a free weekend until 1PM (PST) on Sunday, December 20th and the game will be half priced until Monday.

What do ya know, the netbook that wasn’t supposed to hit the market until mid-January has shown up on Newegg. Not to our surprise, it’s already sold out. We’re not sure exactly if it’s only a pre-order listing or if they’re actually shipping the thing, but we already know it’s going to be a hot item.
