nvidia-tegra

Nvidia’s original Tegra chipset has failed to make a huge footprint in the mobile market so far. It was seen in the Zune HD, but other than that it was nothing special. Nvidia says that this will all change in 2010, as they’re unveiling the Tegra 2 at CES in January. It’s said that it’ll be twice as fast as the original Tegra and we should be seeing it in more devices like tablet PCs, smartphones, and netbooks.

“At CES we are going to make a major announcement about the Tegra family. It is highly possible that we will see some very interesting form-factors coming out at the same time. [There will be products] shown by our partners using the next-generation Tegra device. You are going to see roll-outs and deployments of tablet PCs, smartbooks, netbooks, MIDs throughout the first half [of the year]; and then you will see major roll-outs of smartphones in the second half.”

mcdonalds-wifi

Not a surprising move by any means, but the good ole Mac Daddy fast food joint is teaming up with AT&T to bring you free WiFi to some 11,000 locations nationwide starting mid-January. In the past, you’d be paying a nickel shy of three dollars for two hours worth of wireless internet access.

I don’t know about you, but something about taking your expensive, fancy laptop into a McDonald’s just seems…wrong.

Mini Review: Zombie Driver

When we first saw Zombie Driver there was a unanimous sigh and we thought, “not another zombie game.” However, we were pleasantly surprised when we found Zombie Driver to be a fresh take on the genre. Definitely a change from the usual zombie shooters being churned out by any developer with a decent shooter engine.

Editorial: DPI Isn’t Everything

Hello world. I'd like a burger. Plain, with fries.

Many gamers –even those that don’t possess advanced computing skills or knowledge– think that they understand what DPI is and in all reality, most don’t. They end up treating it as a simple number, where a higher DPI number directly equates to a better mouse. While this is mostly the case, the question is: does it justify the cost of buying a high-DPI gaming mouse to replace your trusty and reliable low-DPI daily driver?

During my time as a gaming reviewer, I’ve had the great pleasure to test and review many high-end gaming mice from several different manufacturers and after each review, I would return to my trusty Logitech MX Revolution which has a DPI rating of only 800.

Google Chrome Pushes Ahead of Safari

Google-Chrome-Logo

Thanks to Mac and Linux additions to Google Chrome, the browser has now overtaken Safari for the third spot in the browser wars with a 4.4-percent market share over Safari’s 4.37-percent. A whole 0.03-percent! As always, Internet Explorer still owns the market share with 63.6-percent and Firefox trailing behind at 24.7-percent.

This isn’t a terribly big surprise, but here’s an interesting and thoughtful question: Do you think Chrome will ever surpass Firefox?
