We’ve already heard a lot about the Nexus One and we’ll probably keep hearing more about it. We’ve decided to roundup all the useful information and images and put them in this one convenient post. As you can probably assume, most of the information is rumor since Google nor HTC have made an official announcement and no specs have been officially released. However, that’s one thing we love about rumors — they get us talking and can be very insightful and revealing. We’ll be updating this post periodically when more information/photos arrive so be sure check back every now and then. Join us after the break for the goods.

  • This whole shebang started when Google employees were all given the phone to try out. A few employees then tweeted about it.
  • The phone currently has two names that are being thrown around; the Google Phone and the Nexus One. No one really knows what it’s official name is yet and we probably won’t know until it’s officially announced, but Google recently filed a trademark for ‘Nexus One’ so they’re planning on using that name for something at the least.
  • The closest we’ve come to an official announcement from Google is this post from their blog about how they’re testing out a mobile Android device.
  • It’ll be manufactured by HTC and sport a 3.7-inch AMOLED display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5.0 MP camera, two microphones to assist in noise cancellation, microSD slot, WiFi, and Bluetooth.
  • It’s said that it runs Android 2.1, but the UI looks a lot like 2.0.1. It’s said that there is still no multitouch, but it’s faster than the Droid.
  • There’s rumors about the phone running on both AT&T and T-Mobile networks, but it’s also said that it’ll only work fully with T-Mobile and only on EDGE for AT&T. Other sources said that Verizon declined having the phone on their network.
  • There are also some gold contacts at the bottom of the phone, which means there’s going to be a dock of sorts.
  • The phone is said the be released as early as January 5th, 2010 for $199, subsidized by Google.
  • There’s a slight chance that this phone could just be a developer phone, meaning that won’t be released to the public, but there’s no telling yet.

UPDATE: Some big details have been released about the phone. According to an anonymous tipster, the Google Phone will be invite only at first starting January 5th, but it’s said that T-Mobile will eventually start selling the phone themselves. Also, tons of specs were leaked. but nothing that we weren’t expecting. You can view all the details over at Engadget.

UPDATE: Pricing Details have been leaked, as well as what looks like the official Terms of Sale. Check it out.

HTC finally makes a hardware upgrade on their Android phones, and ends up doubling the processing power and RAM. This beats the socks off of the iPhone and everything else on the market. There’s hope yet.
