This was quite a diverse and odd week of news and reviews. Steve Ballmer signs a MacBook Pro, Firefox 3.6 releases, Acer thinks they’re awesome, and we mini review a Mario Kart-themed indie racing game. Join us after the break for the complete breakdown.
Mini Review: Zero Gear (PC)
- When we first heard of Zero Gear, we were pleasantly surprised. From early previews, it was hard to believe that someone was finally making a Mario Kart-themed racer. It seemed that they captured what made Mario Kart great and managed to bring it to gamers with a fresh look and design. Like Mario Kart, Zero Gear focuses heavily on combat and weapons to win the race. However, it does offer more than just circuit-race gametypes.
Firefox 3.6 Officially Released
- Well folks, it’s finally here after many delays. It’s been a long journey, so get your dose of the new Firefox here.
Acer Shooting for Number One Spot by 2012
- Remember just a couple of days ago when Acer said that US PC manufacturers would become extinct in 20 years? It seems like the same company making that claim is looking to be the number one PC maker in the world by 2012. HP, currently the number one, has a 19.3-percent market share at the moment and Acer has a 13-percent market share. If notebook trends continue to increase, there’s a great chance that Acer will surpass HP to take the spot away as the world’s largest PC manufacturer.
Steve Ballmer Autographs A MacBook Pro
- What would you do if you were Steve Ballmer and someone came up to you and asked if you could sign their MacBook Pro from Apple? Turns out the man himself just chuckled and wasted no time to write his John Hancock on the lid. The MacBook Pro owner said it was running Windows, so it’s all okay.
