So we’re nowhere close to 2TB yet, but SanDisk is at least one step closer because they just released their first 64GB SDXC memory card. The card can accomplish read speeds of 15MB/s and store over eight hours of HD video with recording speeds of 9Mbps. The higher capacity comes with a price though. Look forward to spending $350 if you plan on getting one of these bad boys.
“SDXC is the successor to the popular SDHC card format. The 64GB SanDisk Ultra SDXC card delivers the speed and capacity consumers need for extended HD video recording and improved rapid shooting of still images. The card is an ideal complement for recently-announced SDXC-compatible cameras and camcorders.” — Susan Park, director, retail product marketing, SanDisk.
