The Bargain Bin: Call of Juarez

We’ve all heard about recent budget cutbacks that have caused all of our favorite game developers and producers to cut many jobs to keep up in today’s economy, but what you never hear about is anything that helps the gamers in today’s rough times. We at the Olive understand that gaming can be an expensive hobby and we feel your pain. So, we’ve enlisted ourselves to find, test, and report some great, cheap games every week. There will be no demos, teasers or flash-based games here.
So, now that we’ve got introductions out of the way, what games do we have to offer you today? Follow us after the break to find out!

This week’s game from the Bargain Bin is Call of Juarez. Around the time everyone was still trying to make the best WWII game, Techland pushed out one of the most unique first-person shooters of its time. While Call of Juarez didn’t do anything new, it did almost everything very well. Rather than introducing new gameplay elements, the developers focused on perfecting the shooter-type gameplay we all love. With great, deep characters along with awesome story delivery and progression, Call of Juarez also has intense gunfights and — even to this day — impressive graphics.
So, you have two choices: If you still don’t trust me that this is a good game, you can download the 535MB demo or you can gamble your hard-earned $9.95 and grab yourself a copy of the game (not available outside the US/Canada/Mexico).
