Hulu Plus Announced and Unveiled

We’ve been speculating Hulu would get some kind of paid subscription service since over a year ago and finally we get the official announcement and details. Hulu Plus will be a $10/month subscription service that will get you HD streaming of entire seasons of numerous TV shows like The Office, Modern Family, House, Family Guy, and more, as well as entire seasons of discontinued shows such as Heroes and Arrested Development. Not only that, but the $10/month will also get you streaming abilities to other devices such as the iPhone and iPad, as well as Samsung, Sony, and Vizio TVs and Blu-ray players, which will be coming soon. PS3 and Xbox 360 support is also on the agenda.

The only downside is that the shows will still have ads, which will be a big deal breaker for some.

The service is expected to launch in July, but Hulu is accepting email addresses for invites to a “preview” of the service.

Read up on all of the details on Hulu’s website.

If you can’t wait that long to play it, the game’s official Twitter page is giving away beta keys, so try your luck at grabbing one of those if you want.

48-Hour Technology Blackout Journal: Day 2

After day one of my 48-hour technology blackout,  I was feeling even more optimistic. The first 24 hours were more than bearable and that also meant that I was over the proverbial hump. Passing the halfway point gave me a much needed boost of confidence that I might just pull this off.

While this footage was shown at E3, this is probably the first time you’ve seen it in proper HD (not recorded by someone’s shaky, sweaty-fingered camera) and without any developer talking over the dialogue. This footage shows us a huge part of what we should expect for companionship through Portal 2‘s campaign. It’s important to note that despite it looking like in-engine footage, this is still a rendered demonstration of gameplay. Check out the footage after the break.
