The Weekly Olive: 6/28/10 – 7/4/10

The past week’s best news and featured content…

48-Hour Technology Blackout Journal: Day 1 and Day 2
- Welcome to my 48-hour technology blackout journal taken during the dark time I spent without digital entertainment. Instead of saving the world from the tyranny of zombies, Nazis, aliens and every other flavor of cliched video game adversary, I spent my days reading and eating. Cold showers and time-wasting activities like shopping and cleaning were my only safe haven in this crazy reverse-endurance test.

Take Our Quick Survey and Win a Razer Destructor!
- Hello, people of Earth. We’re doing something that we’ve never done before. No Olive has ever attempted this. We’re conducting a quick survey to get know your feelings about how we’re running things around here and what you’d like to see in the future (and what you wouldn’t like to see).

The Mamba Files: Month 7 – Maintenance
- With any high-tech device comes the expectation of some little kinks that users must fix, adapt to, or otherwise remedy and the Mamba is certainly no exception. While the Mamba does have a nice warranty that is more than equipped to have this issues resolved, we’ll treat this article as if you bought the Mamba second-hand or the warranty has run out, thus forcing you to fix the issues yourself.

Review: Sniper: Ghost Warrior
- Aiming (if you’ll forgive the term) for a somewhat untouched flavor of the FPS genre, Sniper: Ghost Warrior focuses on long-range combat through your well-polished sniper scope. While most war games only feature scoped weapons briefly in their campaigns, Ghost Warrior promises to make this aspect its primary focus. With this different take on the FPS genre, how does Ghost Warrior measure up against other modern war games of 2010?

Mini Review: Seagate GoFlex TV HD Media Player
- You might recall when we reviewed Seagate’s GoFlex ultra-portable drive, as well as the GoFlex Net media sharing device. We’re here once again to continue the GoFlex saga to bring you the GoFlex TV HD media player. This little guy plugs right into your television and plays any videos, music, or photos that you have stocked on your GoFlex drive or any other USB external hard drive.
