Today, Razer has announced another addition to their constantly growing line of PC gaming peripherals. The Anansi is a gaming keyboard specifically aimed at MMO gamers. It shares “the same successful design philosophy” as the Razer Naga, the company’s MMO gaming mouse. It features dedicated thumb modifier keys, as well as “the power to instantly use up to seven times more commands and abilities over the current 12 ability keys normally accessible on a standard keyboard. The Razer Anansi also features over 100 fully programmable keys, on-the-fly macro recording, five additional gaming keys and the ability to customize the key backlighting from over 16 million colors.”

The Razer Anansi will be available in December for $99.99.

Trine Hitting Mac This November

With Trine 2 confirmed for a Spring 2011 release date, developer Frozenbyte has announced that the original title will be ported to Mac this November. Scheduled to release on Steam first and other download services shortly after, PC gamers that already own Trine on Steam will get free Mac support, and gamers that buy the Mac version upon its release will also get PC support. Frozenbyte also noted that, should the Mac port of Trine sell well enough, Mac gamers should expect to see a port of Trine 2 in the future.

Back in January we tested the Mamba’s battery to see how well it compared to Razer’s claim of lasting 12 solid hours of gaming before requiring life-support in the form of its charging cable. To its credit, the Mamba really lasted 12 hours of hard gaming before begging for mercy, so lets see if it can perform just as well after these past 9 months of wear and tear.

EA announced yesterday that a demo of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit will be coming today. However, the demo is only releasing for the Xbox 360 and PS3. PC gamers will have to wait for the full game to release on November 16th. There will be no demo for the PC.

This is definitely sad news, considering that the Need for Speed series has been so loyal to PC gamers ever since its creation.

Happy Birthday, Tim!

It feels like yesterday when Tim and I were both at his house with the huge tub of Legos all dumped out on the floor, attempting to build some type of nifty contraption to impress the other. Wait…that was yesterday.

Anyway, Tim is now officially in his twenties (h4x!). Out of all things, I ended up getting him more video games for his birthday present (Nimbus and The Polynomial, to be specific. Two fun-looking indie titles).

So, let’s all wish Tim a very merry happy birthday!

“A computer allows you to make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history — with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila.”

Anyway, here’s some news that didn’t quite make the daily cut to a dedicated news post, but still worthy of a quick mention!

- Right now you can get Dogfighter, an arcade-style flying action game for just $1.50 on Steam.
- New drivers for both Nvidia and AMD cards have been released: GeForce 260.99 drivers and Catalyst 10.10 drivers.
- Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be getting a big PC update soon. A post on EA’s UK forums details some of the changes and fixes coming.
- Civilization V has received its first DLC packs.
- The popular gaming blog Kotaku is hosting PC Week on their site….Pfft, we do that every week.

Review: Fallout: New Vegas

Throwing you straight into the action, Fallout: New Vegas starts with you (a courier) being held up, shot in the head, and buried alive. After getting exhumed by a robot companion and revived by the town doctor, you begin the character creation process. The remainder of the core story is driven by your need to retrieve your stolen package and exact revenge; a journey that sees you traveling across the Nevada wastes, growing closer to New Vegas’ light pollution on the horizon.
