Known by many gamers for their Halo and Call of Duty-based “Mythbusters” videos, Defend the House has released their first episode of “Black Ops Mythbusters” which, as you’d expect, focuses on ideas, myths, and crazy conceptions that could or could not be possible within the Black Ops world. They put these concepts to the test and report back with some great video editing and equally fitting music. Check out episode 1 after the break.

Until recently, we were left with a generic “Winter 2010″ release date for Battlefield: Bad Company 2‘s upcoming $15 Vietnam expansion. Today, EA released information confirming that the Vietnam expansion release date is officially set to December 18th, 2010 in EA’s store and Steam. That’s a full three days before console gamers will get their hands on this expansion. To keep us busy until December 18th is Bad Company 2‘s 7th VIP free Map Pack, which is set to release on December 1st. This new map pack will bring two maps from Bad Company 1, as well as two new maps.

A while back, we reviewed Seagate’s Pogoplug-based FreeAgent DockStar. It’s a simple device that turns any external hard drive into an all-out NAS. Turns out this simple device contains a 1.2GHz Marvell ARM processor, 128MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM, as well as the three USB ports, gigabit Ethernet, and the AC power plug. Now, this isn’t the first time the DockStar has been fooled around with, but one hacker by the name of Hunter Davis turned his DockStar into a gaming machine and even a general purpose PC. He simply added on a copy of Debian Linux, a DisplayLink USB-to-VGA adapter, a USB sound adapter and soon he was playing games like Warcraft, Monkey Island 3, Ratchet and Clank, and Super Mario World. All of this from a device that you can buy for a measly $25. Watch a video of the hacked DockStar in action after the break.

If you happen to be a hardcore Photoshop user and end up using tons of layers for a project, chances are it might look extremely unorganized. For those that crave organization, but just don’t have the time (or if you’re just plain lazy), a new service called TidyPSD will clean up the mess and completely reorganize your PSD. However, it’ll cost you $9 per PSD, but the company says they offer discounts for bulk orders. TidyPSD also says that they aim for a 24-hour turnaround and 1-2 days on bulk orders, but if you need it sooner than that, they’re open for special arrangements. And if you’re not happy with their work, they’ll give you a full refund.

Talks of New MacBook Pro Trickling In

It has to start at some point and it looks like that time is now. The grapevine is speculating that the new MacBook Pro will be announced in April of next year and include some things that might come as a surprise. Whether or not it actually happens is a whole ‘nother ball game. Three Guys and a Podcast have reported that the new updates won’t just be “a simple refresh of the MacBook Pro, rather, Apple will deliver an all-out redesign, the big brother of the MacBook air.” This means that they’ll most likely sport SSDs and get rid of the optical drive. The guys even went as far as saying that Intel’s Light Peak technology will be included, which could possibly mean that Apple will bypass USB 3.0 all together despite predictions of a USB 3.0-equipped MacBook Pro.

I Could Eat: Sour Punch Bits

There comes a time in every self-proclaimed candy professional’s career when he must throw caution to the wind and try a new flavor or variation of a well-established candy. Today is that day. When I saw the Sour Patch Bits on the store shelf — proudly displaying a colorful and flamboyant “NEW!” sticker — I simply couldn’t ignore it. It demanded my attention, and my attention it got.
