It looks like the guys over at OnLive are taking things seriously now. They are now the sole owners of the technology that streams PC games to gamers with less-than-magnificent hardware, which means any other service similar to OnLive now has the risk of getting sued. OnLive CEO Steve Perlman filed for the patent back in 2002 and after eight years, it’s finally in the books. Perlman also mentioned that he would be more likely try to reach some sort of agreement with another rival instead of pulling an all-out suefest, which is good to hear. For more information on the patent, you can view it in its entirety here.

If you happen to be a Mac user (we know there are a few roaming around here somewhere), you might want to look into getting the Indie Mac Gift Pack and saving yourself a lot of cash. A group of independent Mac developers have joined forces to create a set of six Mac programs for the price of only $60. If you were to buy all of them at regular price you’d be paying $272 for them, so this is quite a deal you’re getting. The programs included in the pack are Delicious Library 2, Acorn 2, MarsEdit 3, Radioshift, SousChef, and Sound Studio 4. The sale still has well over two weeks left, so you have plenty of time to save up that $60.

It’s said that AMD‘s upcoming Radeon HD 6900 series will hit store shelves in just a couple of days, but if you have down on your wishlist, you might want to consider scratching it out because several rounds of tests done by Fudzilla have indicated that the upcoming “video card of all video cards” is slower than Nvidia‘s current flagship offering. In one of the tests done in 3DMark 2011, the HD 6970 scored just below an 8000 while the GTX 580 scored 8700. In some of the tests, the slightly less-powerful GTX 480 almost stood nose-to-nose with the HD 6970.

We had a feeling YouTube would do this eventually, seeing that they kept increasing the maximum video length over the last several months. They have now completely gotten rid of a maximum video length, which means you can now upload that 45-minute long video of your mom singing different renditions of ‘When the Saints Go Marching In.’ However, this only applies to YouTubers who have been good boys/girls.

“…we’ll begin allowing selected users with a history of complying with the YouTube Community Guidelines and our copyright rules to upload videos that are longer than 15 minutes.”

As of now, there’s really no quick way to see if the limit as been lifted for you except to upload a video longer than 15 minutes and just see if it applies the limit or not.
