ipod

Some of you may know that once the music is on your iPod, it can not be seen, copied, moved, or deleted unless you do it through iTunes. There are some programs that can be used to do this, but unless you pay $20 or more for a good program, they’re not going to work well. I have tried free programs to do this with, but always ended up messing something up on my iPod due to the ways they access and modify the information.

At last, I have found a solution that works flawlessly. This method only works if you want to copy all of the music from your iPod, not just certain songs.

How To: Not Stumble in the Dark

Most people have an overhead ceiling fan that also has lights. I find mine rather convenient as if I want some light, I reach up and pull the knob. If I want some more air circulation, I reach up and pull the other knob. Simple when your room is lit, but what about in the dark? Say after waking up from being too hot, you reach up and pull the knob only to find you grabbed the light instead of the fan and are now blinded!

In this guide, I’ll show you a quick and dirty circuit to make sure you never pull the wrong knob again!

6 Tips for Sports Photography

sportsheader

So you consider yourself to be an amateur photographer and a die-hard sports fan. You’re thinking to yourself, “Why don’t I merge my two loves?”. As a professional sports photographer, my reply to this would be, “DO IT!”. Sports is an absolute blast to shoot, but there’s a few things to keep in mind (especially if you’re shooting with media credentials around your neck).

Before you ask, the answer is yes: Rasterbating is the term I intended to use. In short, it’s taking an image, turning it into dots and printing it across multiple pages as a banner. There is even a dedicated tool for it! The problem is the dots are too low of quality for me. So I generally take an image, blow up the resolution and then divide it into multiple files to print individually. Not technically rasterbating, but I use the term loosely. This is a two part guide to help you make your own wall sized art.

Electrolysis How-To

Over the years you’ve probably learned that water and electricity don’t mix, also fire and hydrogen gas don’t mix. Well, I decided to go against the rules to see what would happen. As it turns out, given a 9 volt battery and some Epsom salts you can take completely harmless water and produce explosive gas!

After looking for some cool fonts the other day, I came across a website where you can turn your very own handwriting into a font to use in any word processing software like Microsoft Word or OpenOffice. It’s kind of useless you could say, but it’s still very cool, and that’s what it’s all about.

DIY: Cool Drink Coasters

I am a person who loves (non-alcoholic) drinks. I’ve always got two cups beside my PC; one for water and the other for soda. I also carry around a water bottle in my backpack and I know the location of the coldest water fountain in school. That’s a lot of drink! The problem is those lovely rings that cups and cans leave behind on your $150 desk! Plain coasters are good enough for plain people. CD coasters are good enough for geeks, but what about the Ub3r PwN3rs out there?

DIY: Custom Screws

Probably the fastest modification I’ve done in computing is custom screw knobs. See, some computer case manufacturers don’t listen to their customers and make the case side panel easily removable, requiring you to grab a screw driver, or worse, drilling out pop rivets (remember those old 1990 cases?). So for every case I’ve ever owned, I’ve made some custom screw knobs that not only look nice and add a bit of taste, they remove the hassle of finding a screw driver.
