911-attack

Today is the eight year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the US, so we thought it would be appropriate to share this awe-shocking photo with you guys. It was taken from the International Space Station by Frank Culbertson, commander of the ISS at the time.

Tech Olive is Recruiting Writers!

IMG_0089

So, to gear up for Q4 2009 and years to follow, we’ve decided to get more volunteer contributing writers on board. What we mean by “volunteer” is that you won’t be guaranteed any kind of pay, benefits or a staff position, but it’s a great way to gain writing experience and get your name out there, while having fun doing it! Anyway, we currently have three positions that are currently open. Check out what they are and the requirements after the break.

Weekly Poll: Right or Left Handed?

rightlefthanded

Tech Olive’s Weekly Poll is a new feature that will come to you every Friday and ask a random question about technology, gaming or anything random, depending on our mood.

This week’s question: Are you right or left handed? It’s been a long fought out argument to see who is better with the mouse and keyboard when it comes to gaming, right handers or left handers. Obviously the majority of us are right handed, but the few and the proud stand tall. Vote and Discuss!

Jakob Needs Programmers!

quick

Hello Everyone! Jake here. I’m currently working on an entirely 3D game written in C# and using the XNA framework. This is of course a daunting task and I’m beginning to feel I’ll need more eyes on the code than just mine. So if you’re just starting your first program or an experienced programmer with years under your belt and want to try your hand at coding a game, send me an email.

If you would rather make models, skins, textures, documentation, something I missed and you think it’s needed in a game, contact me! One goal of this project: If you create something with the intention of putting it in this game, I’ll try my hardest to implement it in some way shape or form, with proper credit given where it is deserved!
