What happens when you take a few students, a ton of free time, an intimidating amount of beer and put them all together in an apartment with an Internet connection and a video camera? A unique musical number wrapped in 24-karat YouTube gold.

In the unlikely event that Facebook isn’t good enough at eating all of your free time, Warner Bros. has announced plans to offer a movie rental system through the massively popular social networking site.

How will it work? After you “Like” the movie’s page, you can then purchase a 48-hour rental of the movie for 30 Facebook credits (equivalent to $3). The system went live this week with the first title being The Dark Knight. Warner promises many more titles for rental and purchase through Facebook soon.

Thanks to the wonder of the Internet, many of us have had the pleasure of watching live-streams of NASA’s space shuttles launching, some of which even follow the action into space and allow us to watch the astronauts doing astronaut things. In space. This week’s video gives you a whole new perspective of a shuttle launch.

Video-making team DefendTheHouse posted a new video detailing their special plans for the month of March. Each day in the month of March, the team will release a new “Black Ops Mythbusters” video testing a new myth. Opera announced today a new version of their browser dubbed “Barracuda.” The company says that this is the first time they’ve given their browser a code name and they said that future versions will also have code names as well. Unfortunately, all they showed off was this mediocre logo of Barracuda that you see above, but Opera says that the first snapshot build will be available “in the near future, and the full feature set will be revealed some time after that.” Also, they mentioned that “another popular Opera feature will be taken to the next level.”

This short, 4-minute film consists of an old chapel located in Poland. The videographer uses HDR to spice it up a bit (okay…a lot!), and we have to say it makes it look like it came straight out of a video game. You’ll want to be sure to skip to around 1:27 where the jaw-dropping actually begins.

Sure, you might have had a few friends over to watch the big game and while you were probably chitting and chatting about all those hilarious (or not) commercials, Jason Chen from Gizmodo makes a good point that the real party was happening on Twitter.

“But when I caught up with everyone on Twitter? Holy shit, America was throwing a rager and everyone was invited. It’s the freaking Super Bowl! The streets were talking. Sports fans waxing poetry about Aaron Rodger’s spiral. Non sports fan dreaming of eating popcorn like A-Rod. Girls complaining when Roethlisberger was shown on screen. Guys wiping off their drool from Kim Kardashian. Everybody had something to add to the game.”

It’s true, and even if you’re not a sports fan, Twitter was an amazing place to hang out during Super Bowl Sunday, especially during that uh-mazing halftime show.

The Super Bowl ain’t just about football, folks. It’s also about the commercials, and we saw one from Chevrolet that shows off their new Cruze with the ability to read back Facebook status updates to the driver. That’s all they showed in the thirty-second clip, but we’re guessing you can also update your Facebook status through the system as well. Seems cool, but will Chevy Cruze users really be that addicted to Facebook for the need to check their status updates while driving? It’s very possible, and I guess in this case, seeing if your first date went well is worth the feature. Check out the commercial after the break.

According to NetMarketshare.com, Google Chrome has hit a 10% browser market share for the first time ever. Of course, this is at the expense of Firefox and Internet Explorer, which both took a slight hit. They are now at 22.75% and 56.00%, respectively. Safari has been ever so slightly increasing over the past year to gain 6.30% and Opera is keeping a steady share at 2.28%.
