Peruvian musician Jaime Oliver (not the English chef) has recently created what essentially is a drum looking thing that makes awesome, industrial noises. However, instead of beating it with your hand or a drumstick, you shape the flexible surface with your hands to make noises. A camera pointed up towards the bottom of the flexible surface measures all of the deflections made and then translates that into industrial music of sorts.
