I Could Eat: Curly Wurly

While the driving force behind Tech Olive is based entirely on the US-side of the proverbial pond, you’d be surprised just how many fans we attract from Europe. However, it seems we only attract fans from Europe that are female, because all we’ve heard is whining and crying about our ICE articles lacking their version of “sweets.” So, sit back, pour yourself a cup of tea and enjoy our thoughts on one of the UK’s most popular and oldest treats.

I Could Eat: Sour Patch Blue Raspberry

I Could Eat is a feature that showcases a scrumptious snack or drink that we think other geeks and gamers “could eat” (in other words, would greatly enjoy). If you have any snacks or drinks that you think are worthy of an I Could Eat shout out, let us know!

Children everywhere have come to know and love blue raspberry as a flavor, but what do we actually know about this flavor? Blue raspberry is the Santa Claus of the candy industry; rooted in fact, but completely fictional for all intents and purposes, except to make the candy makers more money.

Moving onto the topic at hand, it’s no secret that I’m a fan of just about every Sour Patch-branded edible snack ever made. And much to my surprise, I found yet another variation that to which my tongue is a virgin. This is an issue that will meet its remedy today.

I Could Eat is a feature that showcases a scrumptious snack or drink that we think other geeks and gamers “could eat” (in other words, would greatly enjoy). If you have any snacks or drinks that you think are worthy of an I Could Eat shout out, let us know!

It’s Christmas, so I wanted to do something festive. If I have to deal with all this Holiday music everywhere I go, then you’ll be suffering too. And, because it’s Christmas time, the best themed edible I could find was Santa’s face. As this Holiday’s mascot says: gobble gobble. [Editor's note: That's Thanksgiving, stupid.]

For several months, the Oreo Cakesters have taunted me from the shelves of the snack aisle. Could they really deliver on their promise of soft Oreos without the need for milk? Or was this all just marketing hype and black-magic trickery? Today I will put my money, mouth, and stomach on the line to answer this great mystery. Paramedics are standing by.

I Could Eat: Sour Punch Bits

There comes a time in every self-proclaimed candy professional’s career when he must throw caution to the wind and try a new flavor or variation of a well-established candy. Today is that day. When I saw the Sour Patch Bits on the store shelf — proudly displaying a colorful and flamboyant “NEW!” sticker — I simply couldn’t ignore it. It demanded my attention, and my attention it got.

“You’ll spoil your dinner!” Mom cries from the kitchen as I bolt up the stairs to my room, a fresh cache of contraband tucked away in my arms. Seriously? Spoil my dinner? A) This is my dinner and B) This concept of “dinner” was already spoiled when we decided it was gonna be something other than ordering pizza.

I Could Eat: Halloween

I Could Eat is a feature that showcases a scrumptious snack or drink that we think other geeks and gamers “could eat” (in other words, would greatly enjoy). If you have any snacks or drinks that you think are worthy of an I Could Eat shout out, let us know!

Alright, I couldn’t actually eat Halloween (not for lack of effort) because it’s not an edible substance on its own, but it does go hand-in-hand with complete strangers giving you free candy all night. On a side note: my mother told me not to go hand-in-hand with strangers, even if they offer me candy, so Halloween is a very fine line that we must walk.

Mambas. For the most part, they’re a little-known candy that have a similarity with Now and Later or Starbursts. Mostly flying under my snack radar, I would usually pass them up for a more vibrant or sour choice. Could the recently introduced Mamba Sour fruit chews change this? Let’s ask the jury.

I Could Eat: Life Savers Gummies

I Could Eat is a new feature that showcases a scrumptious snack or drink that we think other geeks and gamers “could eat” (in other words, would greatly enjoy). If you have any snacks or drinks that you think are worthy of an I Could Eat shout out, let us know!

As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of Life Savers Gummies, I feel compelled to break down these mysterious and infinitely circular oddities of the candy world. Why exactly would these be considered odd? Since their creation in 1935, the 5-flavor pack of fruity (in reference to the candy’s taste; not a critique on its sexuality) Life Savers were only available as a hard candy. However, sometime within the last 4 years, this formula evolved and the Gummies variation was born.

You guys know what Goldfish are, right? They’re the overly popular cracker of choice for most folks. I used to eat them regularly until I met another, but similar type of cracker. Now, I refuse to eat Goldfish simply because they have a stale taste and no substance to them.
