Microsoft’s Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Turner recently spoke at the company’s Worldwide Partner Conference. Turner said that the laptop hunter ads are working because he received a phone call from Apple demanding that the ads be terminated because they lowered their prices. Turner thought it was quite the joke and confirmed that Microsoft will “keep running them and running them and running them.”

Round Five of PC Laptop Bargain Hunters

The guys over at Redmond released another infamous laptop bargain hunters ad. This time, we follow a girl named Lauren (not the original Lauren) and her mom searching for a laptop with “speed, portability and battery life” for under 17 benjamins.

This one wasn’t too exciting. They made their usual remark about Apple, but it was quite a justifiable claim, seeing that the cheapest MacBook they looked at was a dollar shy of two grand. Lauren and the mother ended up with a Dell XPS 13a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, and a $899 price tag.

These adverts just keep getting more entertaining to watch and become less logical it seems. Apple just released an ad responding to the several bargain hunting ads from Microsoft. I really can’t explain it without interrupting myself to laugh, so just watch it already!
