Capcom confirmed today that the PC release of their upcoming zombie-killing sequel, Dead Rising 2, will make use of Microsoft’s Games for Windows Live for its achievements, profiles, multiplayer and more.

This is always a point of concern due to GFW Live’s unreliable past of gaming stability and functionality. However, with Microsoft’s promise to focus more on the PC gaming-side of things, perhaps this will be their first chance to redeem themselves in the eyes of the gaming public. That, or we’ll end up with another Fallout 3 — great game, but almost unplayable thanks to GFW Live.

Dead Rising 2 Delayed for a Month

It seems we’ve been given an extra four weeks to sharpen our blades and clean our rifles as Dead Rising 2‘s release date has been pushed back to September 28th. Because the game is set for a simultaneous release on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, let the “which platform caused the delay?” debate begin.

Dead Rising 2 Co-op Confirmed

Capcom just confirmed that Dead Rising 2 will feature co-op play, but the details were unclear as to how much of the game is geared for co-op. We would love to see a Left 4 Dead-style campaign co-op integration, but only time will tell. So that means you guys have until the August 31st release date to make a new friend.

“Co-op play is introduced to the Dead Rising universe for the first time as players can invite their friends to partner up with them at any time to take on the zombie massacre- tag-team style! Play with a friend and have even more fun as you lure zombies in using strategic items like a toy helicopter or a firecracker. Once the zombies have gathered, your friend can rain bullets from above or shoot at a strategically-placed gas tank to create a deadly explosion that will take out masses of the enemy. Killing zombies with a friend is always more fun!”

Not many people know that there was another remake of Bionic Commando, aside from the full-fledged 3rd-person series reboot, one that stuck true to the original game’s roots with a true side-scrolling adventure.

Review: Bionic Commando (PC)

bio0

Today we will be reviewing Bionic Commando, Capcom’s attempt to restart the series they created in 1988 on the NES. Apparently, this 2009 title is supposed to be a direct sequel to the original, despite the title not labeling it as such. Call me young, but I feel that 21 years is a bit too long to wait before releasing a sequel.
