For this month’s Mamba Files, I decided to combine my Winter-Een-Mas gaming marathon with a Mamba battery life test. It was a tall order considering the fact that Razer claims the Mamba will last up to 14 hours of heated gaming, but I was up for the task.

Razer has been on a roll with their product announcements these past few months and now Razer has unveiled a new mouse pad. The Vespula is a dual-sided (Speed and Control sides) hard-surface gaming mouse pad with a memory gel wrist rest. The Vespula is much like Razer’s older eXact Mat with many of the same features and design choices. I used to game with an eXact Mat, so I am very excited for this new model, not to mention the design and style of the mouse pad looks absolutely stunning.

The Vespula is shipping from Razer’s US/International and Europe stores now at a cost of $35 (or €35). Follow the break for more shots of the Vespula.

Razer-sixsense

After Razer announced their plans of breaking into the console market, there was a small fear that they might be moving away from PC gaming, at least for the time being. Well, our fears have been put to rest with Razer’s newest announcement. They have teamed up with Sexense to create “true-to-life, next-generation motion sensing and gesture recognition controller for PC gaming.” The idea seems very promising and we even have a demo video in L4D2 from the CES show floor, so follow the break and have a look for yourself.

Razer Breaks Into Console Market

Out of the blue, Razer announced their plans to develop products for the console gaming market. Though all they have to show was preliminary design drafts of the Chimaera, a 5.1 Xbox 360 headset and the Onza, an Xbox 360 gamepad. Nevertheless, it is an exciting advancement in Razer’s product line and an exciting look into what to expect from them at CES. Follow the break for more pictures.

The Mamba Files: Month 1

mamba1

Welcome to the first month of our 12-month Razer Mamba testing cycle.

To anyone that has purchased a Razer product, they will know that Razer is one of the best companies at presenting their products. When you unpack your new Razer mouse, you get a true feeling that it’s something special; high quality and well worth the cost, but for some gamers (those that are budget-conscious), there will always be that nagging thought of how much of the Mamba’s $130 retail sticker goes towards the impressive, but ultimately frivolous packaging?

roundup0

In the past, we’ve reviewed our fair share of hardware from Razer. Today, we’re doing things a little differently. Razer sent us three of their premiere gaming mice and we’re going to do an in-depth evaluation of the Mamba, Orochi and Imperator. We’ll be putting each mouse through its paces to see where it performs best and which mouse is greatest for any given type of gamer. At the end of it all, we’ve got a surprise, so don’t miss that! (If you cheat by skipping to the end, you officially suck)

Mini Review: Razer Imperator

Imperator0

Razer recently sent us a batch of mice for an upcoming roundup, but before we dive into that, we felt the need to review Razer’s newest gaming mouse, the Imperator. On paper, the mouse seems quite impressive, but would it deliver such performance in a hands-on test? Time to put the Imperator to the test.

Razer Announces Cyber Monday Special

Dear Diary: It's been a while....sup?

Instead of a store-wide sale, Razer’s Cyber Monday sale only covers one item. Instead of discounting specific products, Razer has come up with the idea of “Random Loot” for their Cyber Monday sales. For a mere $1 (plus shipping), you can purchase one of only 300 Random Loot packages which could be filled with anything from a Razer netbook pouch to their most expensive headset.
