Still not convinced that Super Meat Boy is a really good game? We can’t blame you. We wouldn’t trust us either. For even more opinions, we had to search a little deeper for PC reviews of Team Meat’s challenging platformer simply because nobody gives a crap about PC indie games anymore (except us).

It’s no secret that PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) seems to enjoy spending their massive budget on over-the-top advertising and media coverage rather than actually helping the animals they are sworn to protect, and this is no exception. They ended up targeting the recently released Super Meat Boy as a huge risk to the livelihood and well-being of the world’s animal population, and have reacted professionally. And by professionally, I mean by making fun of Team Meat’s newest project in the form of their own game that is a near-identical clone known as Super Tofu Boy.

Team Meat posted some thoughts about the whole issue on their blog, but they’re basically thanking PETA for the free publicity:

“First off I want to thank Peta for helping us turn Super Meat Boy into a house hold name and of course for making themselves look quite foolish in the process… see (as mentioned in countless interviews) Meat Boy isn’t made of animal meat, he’s simply a boy without skin whos name is Meat Boy.. but sshh don’t tell them that.”

As the saying goes, there’s no such thing as bad press. Oh, and Team Meat is also adding Super Tofu Boy as a playable character in their next update scheduled for tomorrow. Have we mentioned that we love indie developers recently?

As you may already know, Super Meat Boy is one of the recent highly-anticipated indie games. Now you can pre-order Team Meat’s arcade-like challenger on Steam and save yourself $5 at the same time. We knew Super Meat Boy would be coming to the PC at the end of November, but now developer Team Meat has finally set a release date for the uber-challenging arcade-like title. November 30th will see the release of Super Meat Boy on Steam. The game will be priced at $15, but anyone who pre-orders through Steam will only have to pay $10. Plus, Steam users will also get an exclusive character for use in the game; the headcrab from the Half-Life series. For those that are planning to get the non-Steam PC version, you’ll get an exclusive character as well; a Goo Ball from World of Goo.

Pre-orders will begin on November 23rd.

The most talked-about XBLA game the past few weeks has been Super Meat Boy, and thankfully the game is hitting PC later this month. Developer Team Meat has announced via Twitter that Super Meat Boy will be available on Steam starting the last week of November. There will also be a separate PC version coming out sometime afterward for the non-Steam users.
